Who We Are

About Us

Master degree study programme Applied Biotechnology was established at Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) based of long-standing experience on running Master study program Molecular Biology and Biotechnology - the first master study program on biotechnology in Lithuania - which was established in 1994. Programme Applied Biotechnology is organized by the Department of Biology at the Faculty of Natural Sciences in close co-operation with the institutes of the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (LAMMC)Institute of Horticulture, Forest Research Institute, and Institute of Agriculture - and the State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine.

Vytautas Magnus University

Ranked #61 among the EECA universities and #801-1000 among universities in the world and #301-500 universities for Graduate Employability in 2020 (QS World University Rankings) following in the tradition of its 92-year-old progenitor University of Lithuania, Vytautas Magnus University is the only higher education institution in the country and one of the few in the region where a wide liberal arts education is imparted.

That means the students can change and organize their schedule freely, minor in one field and major in another, travel abroad on international exchange and get ready for those trips by taking some of the available 30 foreign language courses which never interfere with the specialty subjects.
